Job Description

DTI seeks a full-time Marketing and Brand Manager to help raise awareness of its programs and core mission in order to increase bakery sales, grow fundraising revenues, and market our program to wider audiences. This position will have an opportunity to help shape and implement the organization’s marketing and communication efforts, execute DTI’s annual marketing plan, and drive business goals through brand action plans. You will work with and help manage agency partners in support of strategy, planning, and implementation, and will work closely with the relevant cross-functional DTI staff to set goals, build programming, and deliver outstanding execution that builds awareness and drives interest in DTI. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses strong marketing, creative, writing, project management, and overall account management skills. He/She will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically, will need to be a reliable collaborator within and across teams, and be able to communicate clearly and compellingly at all levels of the organization. He/She will serve as a trusted representative of Dog Tag internally and externally, both in person and in writing. He/She will wear many hats, work fast and smart, and adapt and iterate quickly. We are looking for someone who is ready to roll-up his/her sleeves and join a tightly knit team that is tackling interesting and challenging opportunities and who is motivated by a mission-driven 501c3 organization committed to changing lives.

This role will report directly to the Director of Development and will be supported by the Development and Marketing Coordinator. The Marketing and Brand Manager will also work closely with the Senior Leadership Team. 
 
Key Job Responsibilities Include:    
  • Act as main project manager for DTI’s ongoing brand refresh and website overhaul, serving as liaison between DTI’s marketing agency partner, DTI senior staff, and key stakeholders to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and on budget
  • Following brand refresh and website launch, manage supporting communications and creative agencies, ensuring consistent branding and identity across deliverables
  • Serve as account manager for core program areas/staff as it pertains to their marketing and communications needs (including print and online materials development/review, media outreach, special events’ needs, fundraising collateral materials, bakery promotions, etc.)
  • Act as brand guardian and ensure all activations are brand-led and aligned
  • Oversee the organization's online presence including websites and social media (FB, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Create, manage, and execute editorial calendar for Dog Tag’s social, print, and broadcast media channels in order to create a cohesive social presence that captures all aspects of our enterprise - Dog Tag Bakery, Fellowship Program, and more
  • Manage all media requests and onsite production support as needed
  • Provide marketing workshops to members of the Fellowship Program
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Skills/Capabilities/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of marketing experience in brand planning (e.g., corporate brand strategy), creative strategy (e.g., creative agency), or other relevant experience
  • Agency experience in an account management or strategy/planning role
  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams
  • Strategic and independent thinking and problem solving
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under compressed deadlines
  • High tolerance for shifting and/or competing priorities and ability to strategize solutions
  • Highly collaborative position; requires strong ability to influence, cooperate, and team build
  • Demonstrate high degree of leadership, decision making, and persuasive skills
  • Results-focused approach whereby all actions are tied to organization’s performance measures
  • Possess appropriate levels of respect, sensitivity, and accommodation to those DTI serves – service-disabled veterans, military spouses, and caregivers
  • Graphic and visual design capabilities encouraged
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required
  • Experience working with WordPress, Canva, Hootsuite, and Adobe Creative Cloud preferred
